23 arrested in break-up of Polish crime gang

Group included members of an organised crime ring in Poland who were jailed in the late 1990s but moved to Spain following their release

TWENTY-three people have been arrested in the break-up of a Polish-led gang that was running a drug-trafficking operation from Marbella.

Some of the group were previously members of a violent organised crime gang in Poland, who were arrested in the late 1990s and sentenced to 15 to 20 years in prison, and moved to Spain following their release, said National Police officials. The so-called Pruszkow gang in Poland was involved in drug trafficking as well as violent crimes including homicide, kidnapping and extortion, they said.
