Terra Mítica in trouble

THE NEW managers of Terra Mítica theme park, Aqualandia-Mundomar,
announced this week that the park would be finishing its summer season
at the end of September rather than in December and that at least 400
members of staff would be made redundant.

THOUSANDS of Britons who booked their holidays to Spain via Birmingham-based travel agency Sun4u saw their summer breaks disappear on Thursday as the firm collapsed and was put into liquidation.

Air traffic August relief

THE UNCERTAINTY over the threatened air traffic controllers strike is putting in jeopardy the holidays of hundreds of thousands of Britons who plan to holiday on the Costa Blanca this summer. However, fears were allayed somewhat on Wednesday when the controllers union said strike action would probably not take place during August.

Bloody weekend on Spanish roads
Spain might be enjoying its annual August vacation but at least 26 families this week are mourning the loss of those who died in accidents on the nation's roads last weekend. Two British children were killed in a road accident in Burgos early on Sunday.
