Bullfight ban

A groundbreaking law to ban bullfighting was voted in by the Catalán regional government on Wednesday.

The ban will not come into force until January1, 2012, but it is the first of its kind in Spain.

Animal-lovers are now calling for other regions to follow suit.

At last -Thank you Catalonia south,lets hope the rest of Spain follows their example.A pity so many more bulls will be tortured to death till this new law begins in 2012,but its a start.lets hope the Madrid vote will be the same---Ban bullfights forever.

Motivos
No me importan los motivos por la prohibición. Lo que cuenta es que a partir de 2012 nunca más habra toros torturados por la curiosidad morbida de turistas (tontos y estúpidos) y placer enfermiza del público catalan.

what next?
I'm sure all the tree huggers will be delighted at this but rest assured if they get away with this and get a country wide ban they won't stop. What next fishing, after all fish have feelings too. How about hunting? Horse riding must be unkind. The list just grows. This wasn't about the bulls it's all about politics. Wake up and smell the coffee.

I hope the law is in force through out Spain. well done to the WSPCA who have also been campaigning against this. I agree Ban bullflights forever. They are horrific! Well done Catalonia.

about time too its a shame it cannot be put into force immediately and for the whole of spain after all all animals have feelings leave them alone !!!

For expats to start demanding Spain change their customs to suit us is the same as Muslims demanding all Muslim schools and "Super Mosques". Don't like Spain? Go home.
