Heat wave kills young man

Alcoy resident dies of heatstroke on San Juan Playa

ALCOY resident Francisco Javier Giménez Rodríguez, died on Sunday from heatstroke following a bicycle ride along San Juan Playa.

Police say that Sr Rodríguez collapsed alongside his car after taking his bicycle ride. His body was found by an off duty local policeman from Jijona who alerted the emergency services.

Para-medics that arrived at the scene were unable to revive him.
