Costa pupil ranked top in the world

Five students top in Spain

SIX students from the Laude Lady Elizabeth school have recently received notification and recognition for their exam results.

Of the six students, five were ranked top in Spain in their exam subject while one other student was top in the world in her exam for AS English language.

Headmaster Richard Wijeratne said: "Success like this does not happen overnight. Students have to work towards their final goal and there is an enormous responsibility on parents, students and teachers if the expectations are so high.

"However, there is a close marriage as the pupils are dedicated, the teachers work hard and parents have an important role in home life."

Estefania Jane Ash Coulter scored top in Spain for Art and Design and will continue her art studies at university in September. Currently she is working towards holding her own exhibition in June.

Equal top in Spain for A-level English literature was Maziyar Karimian who is currently studying philosophy, politics and economics at Warwick University with the hope of gaining a scholarship to go to the USA to study politics in the summer.
