Two rights make a wrong
By Alex
Watkins 28 youths belonging to the Movimiento Patrióco Socialista were arrested when they tried to disrupt the rally. It had been organised by Spanish party Democracia Nacional to commemorate the anniversary of Franco's death on November 20, 1975. Also on the guest list was the leader of Italian far right party Forza Nova, Roberto Fiore. Several people were hurt in the incident but no-one required medical attention. The scuffle started outside at the end of the meeting around 13.00 but none of the guests were involved. Democracia Nacional called Mr Griffin's visit a ‘real success'. In an interview, Mr Griffin hailed the potential of the newly-forged ‘European alliance of national movements' to ‘change history'. He added that nationalist governments in Spain and Britain would have more chance of resolving the sovereignty of Gibraltar. "I would rather see the Spanish flag flying there than an Islamic one," he said. {moscomment} |
