When age does not matter

THE new Fallera Mayor of Paiporta was formally presented last weekend.

After seven years without municipal representatives, the town finally has a fiesta queen... despite the strong controversy over Pepa Doménech's age.

The ex-president of the local Fallas committee was forced to resign after making a series of unfortunate comments on Facebook back in July about the election of the 61-year-old.

However, the glamorous fiesta queen declared she felt ‘very happy and excited' during the presentation ceremony, forgetting the past problems ‘and concentrating on living the moment as intensely as possible'.

Meanwhile, current fiesta committee president Abdón Mesado expressed his opinion that although the beginnings were tough, ‘I am sure this is going to be a very special year'.
