Amendment lifts demolition threat for thousands of homeowners

A MAJOR amendment to the regional planning laws, passed by the Junta de Andalucía last week, will end the threat of demolition for many home- owners whose properties were built illegally but bought in good faith. Last week, the regional government approved changes to legislation dating from 2002 which will permit certain owners to register their homes in the Land Registry and guarantee access to basic water and power supplies.
