A red wine from Álora has been named the best ‘supermarket’ wine in Spain in a new guide. ‘Los Supervinos 2017’, by Valencian writer and wine expert Joan C. Martín, lists a total of 152 wines that sell for under €6.99 a bottle and 48 wines under €14. It puts Vega del Geva Crianza from Álora’s Pérez Hidalgo winery (€8.85 a bottle), in the number-one spot, calling it “unforgettable” and “almost perfect”.
