Torremolinos has postponed a design competition it announced last month for a new sculpture to replace the ‘Monumento al Turista’ on the roundabout by the Palacio de Congresos. The scheme had been met with criticism by opposition parties, in part due to the cost that would be involved in the unnecessary replacement of the monument. The town hall says it will seek consensus before moving forward.
