NATIONAL Police have issued a warning following the growing number of cases of virtual kidnappings reported in the city of Málaga, as well as in Marbella.

Investigators say that, typically, the victim receives a phone call advising that a family member has been kidnapped and that a ransom must be paid for their safe release, whereas the individual is actually safe and well.
