Dutch couple’s killers on trial

ALLEGED Romanian hitman Valentin Ion admitted in court last week that he had beaten the Dutch volleyball player Ingrid Visser and her partner Lodewijk Severein to death in a rural property in Molina de Segura, Murcia, in May, 2013.

According to Ion, he had agreed to travel from Valencia to Murcia with Juan Cuenca, the main defendant in the case, “to help him in case something happened”. He denied having being hired to kill Ingrid and Lodewijk, although he said Cuenca was supposed to pay him between €12,000 to €15,000 for the job.
