England set for Spain test

By Alex Watkins

THE ENGLAND football team arrived at the airport in El Altet on Tuesday ahead of their friendly clash with Spain at the Rico Pérez stadium in Alicante tonight (Friday).
They are staying at the Asian Garden hotel in Finestrat and have been training at the Camilo Cano sports centre in La Nucia behind closed doors, with plenty of Guardia Civil officers on hand to deny access to fans or the media.
The players were due to have a session on the stadium pitch from 17.30 (yesterday) Thursday after a press conference at the hotel.
The England squad is a man down after Liverpool midfielder James Milner pulled out with an injury at the last minute and no replacement was called up.
Milner will miss not only the Spain game but the friendly against France on Tuesday.
