Former Zurgena councillors have been found not guilty of permitting 41 illegal homes to be built in the town between 2003 and 2007.
Their defence team had argued that since the town’s architect report had been in favour of granting planning permission, the councillors had no reason to suspect that anything was amiss when they voted in favour.
