Angry film producer goes on hunger strike to extract payment from Huércal Overa council

An aggrieved film director has gone on hunger strike after claiming Huércal Overa council refused to honour an agreement for him to produce a paid documentary on the town.

Pep Navarro, from Oviedo but with roots in Huércal Overa, made a film on the town’s history and traditions two years ago, allegedly at the request of culture councillor Antonio Lázaro, for which he has received no payment.
