A British real estate agent has been cleared of fraud by a court in Almería after being accused of duping a couple into buying a house on non-urban land in Arboleas.

Gordon Condrey, 60, went on trial at the Audiencia Provincial court in Almería city recently, accused of defrauding John and Margaret Roberts after he sold them a 10,000-square metre plot of land to build a house on in La Cinta district for some €200,000 in February 2001.

But the judge cleared Mr Condrey of wrongdoing, ruling that the Roberts should have known what they were doing as they were also listed in the sales contract as the developers of the project.
