Alcalzaba director told to quit

These supports for a temporary stage were drilled into a centuries’ old wall

There are calls for the resignation of the director of the Alcalzaba fortress and that of the provincial director of culture after holes were drilled into the walls of the fortress to support a music stage.

The request came from the president of the friends of the Alcalzaba monument, Maria Pérez. She said: “This is a clear violation of the law protecting such monuments. Both director Maria García and her supervisor Alfredo Valdivia authorised this event, so both are culpable as they did nothing to prevent this tragedy.”
