A 35-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with manslaughter after running over a 73-year-old woman in Albox last Sunday.
The woman was rushed to Huércal Overa hospital but died shortly afterwards.
The accident happened around 7.45pm on the Avenida 28 de Febrero but no further details as to the circumstances have been released.
The driver of the car was arrested at the scene. Although he tested negative for alcohol he was found to have no points on his Spanish driving licence, indicating that he had committed previous driving offences.
